Hello.
I've been in touch with someone selling a 91 f2 that was a track bike, that "went down hard" and i have a few questions.
1) He said he block was cracked and then rewelded. While he never got the bike to run due to the carbs needing a rebuild, he said it cranked over fine. I assume that means that the motor isn't siezed, but could wrecking a bike do anything to the interenals such as bearing damage, bending a rod, or valve damage?
2) The bike has no fairings or lights, so i plan on putting f3 plastics/lights on it, but the bike also needs a fairing stay. I know people say you can get f3 plastics on f2 stays, but if i get an f3 stay, will it bolt to the f2 chassis?
Thanks.

Thanks for the responses, but would you guys care to elaborate?
I'm purposely looking for something rebuild. I realize it's going to cost me more to fix up a beat up bike than purchase a clean one, but thats the point. I'm looking for a project for the summer.
Thanks.

block cracked then rewelded?? Where was the block cracked? Since its never even been started again afterwards i would not buy that thing. There might be way more damage than u think
imo, since that damage sounds major, if i didnt know the complete extent of what caused it, i wouldnt buy it. if you're looking for a project, build from the ground up. it may be cheaper and you gain experience. dont forget that you wont necessarily (sp) gain anyones problems. and this sounds like nothing but a big problem. unless you know the guy personally, dont bother with it. in the end, you'll be glad you chose something else.
Unless you know what your doing working on bikes, might not be a good idea. I have bought wrecked bikes, made them nice, and sold them. It would be a huge headache if i didn't know what i was doing. I hope to god your getting this thing for like $100. It isn't worth much more. Tell him to get it to al least fire up and then maybe $300.
