Default jdm del sol visor install + windshield ownage

When installing jdm visors you have to massage the little tab under the usdm visor assembly so it does not interfere with the jdm A pillar caps. Has any one experienced fissures or chips in the windshield while "massaging" this tab down I have a few small fissures /chips that I don’t remember seeing before but I may have not noticed them before. Or i may have been over zealously pounding down my tabs and the vibration from said massaging owned my windshield.

No part of that specific installation process should necessitate enough force to damage a piece of glass as thick and contoured as your windshield.

Or maybe you should have said "You shouldn't pound on your windshield hard enough to break it"

Perhaps your windshield already had some damage?

I could have sworn that I didn’t have that many chips before hand but perhaps I had never looked at it close enough. I know the vibration caused at least one little fissure not a chip but a little crack in between the layers, because I seen it happen while i was working but its not a huge deal. Thanks

the crack is about 1/4" and you can really feel it on the outside or inside but you can see it inside the glass. i think i am going to take it to one of those glass places and see if they can fix it. i put the caps on first to test fit and the tabs where holding the top edge of the cap out a little so i pushed them down a bit.

Yeah a glass shop can totally fix that. Get it done asap though that thing will spread with tempature changes and window flexing.

What are you waiting for get going man.
