Igniter maybe?
Igniter maybe?
is it hesitating and if you give it gas to get the rpms up running ok for a little bit then doing it again... this happened to me last summer it was my distributor - i changed that spark plugs and wires and it fixed it
hope that helps
hope that helps
I had a similiar problem, car would hesitate and backfire between 2-3000 rpms, but as punku10 stated, I changed plugs and wires and now it runs like a top.
did any of you guys who had the same problem as me have trouble starting the car sometimes? ,..like sometimes it would just crank but wouldnt fire,..i would sit there for a min or 2 and try to start it up and it would fire
i had the same problem when my distributor was a bust. but i dont want u to waste money on a whole new one if that isn't the real problem. i'm just giving u my experience. hope it helps.

okay before i go purchase new plugs and wires (although i will do that anyways even though i just did a tuneup 10k miles ago) do you guys with the same problem as me have your tach jump like crazy?
now the car just cranks but wont fire,...i hope its just the plugs that are fouled,..i really dont want to buy another distributor
I had the same exact problem a while back. My MSD ignition was failing and I reverted back to stock. Also-it may be the map sensor. I have now blown the motor and am building a new one.

alright boys,..i went and got some NGK spark plugs (didnt get wires yet because nobody stocks the NGK blues around here) and i put them in,..the car started up just fine,..im guessing it was my spark plugs that were fawking me up seeing as how the car wouldnt even fire earlier,..just crank,..so verdict is,..i think the zex plugs were the culprits,..i just changed those bastards 10k miles ago,..i only ran em since i was running a zex nitrous kit,...i put the new plugs in but havent driven the car yet,..but im guessing she is going to be fine because like i said,..the car wouldnt even start earlier with the old plugs in but started with the new plugs,..thanks for the help boys
i had alot of trouble with them zex plugs. i dunno why exactly but the car did exactly what u stated above. seemed weird to me. so i swapped em out for some ngk's aswell
my car is doin the same thing rite now.....my friend said it might be the ignitior...but mine doesnt backfire....well i dont think it is cuz i got a stock muffler.

pull the dist. cap and check for moisture build up, hopefully it could be as easy as changing the cap and rotor. worst scenario it can be the ignitor or maybe the dist. taking a ****.
