Default gauges don't work?

my cousin has an EG and his gauges stopped working. He said all the gauges just stopped working while he was driving. What could be the problem?

yup, every single one of them. The gauge harness doesn't seem to have any defects as well. The gauge cluster was also put in a friend's car and it worked fine.

There are two common elements here: The power to the cluster and its ground.

All gauges receive a ground through G401 [left front kick panel area].

All gauges also receive power through Fuse 15 (10A) [Under-dash box]. Since a lot of other things also use G401 as a ground, and you're not complaining of anything else, I'd point the finger at a blown fuse or the wire that feeds power to the guage cluster.

There is a connector that power passes through before it reaches the cluster (C507 - 20pin Blue connector - Yel wire). Fuse 15 also services the clock and hazard warning switch; Are they working? If yes, then you know the fuse is fine, as well as the C501 connection.

Also, there are actually 3 connectors to the cluster that have power to them....if the whole cluster isn't working but your clock and hazards are, then look to the Yel wire coming from the C507 connector (this services all 3 cluster connectors), as this is also where the clock and hazards get their power from. If the clock and hazards don't work, then look to C501 (20-in Green connector) or Fuse 15.

There isn't much left to the circuit then this.
