Need detailed specs ( factory issue) on valve seat grinding/cleaning on a d16y8 head!!!
the story goes
i got a buddy of mine who is still in highschool to let me into his auto shop class ( something my highschool lacked!! i missed out on a great childhood), funny thing is i still pass for a student..
anyway after talking to the teacher and having to confess that i'm a student..... at university, i asked him if i could stick around and work on my head, cuz i had no tools at home and paying a shop to do my dirty work is the last thing i want to do. he said sure
anyway i got the hole head disassembled, but there is damage on the valve seats!! whoever had this head before didnt take care of it, there was a ridicolous amount of carbon buildup everywhere, i spent like an hour cleaning up the valves!!
anyway he has a machining station in the back of the class, but they dont teach engine dynamics there.. and he says the machine hasnt been used in years, and he himself hasnt touched the stuff in years either, he said if i could get him machining specs for a D16Y8 head ( angles, depth, etc etc) then he will help me do it
otherwise its off the real shop.... and i REALLY DONT FEEL LIKE DROPPING THE BONES FOR IT...
so please anyone with the resources!! hook me up, i have a haynes but it doesnt deal with anything that has to be machined!!! says "leave it to the experts" ******* *******...
anyway i need this ASAP, otherwise my project is grounded once again!!
