Questions on busted timing belts...
My D15, bone-stock, fresh rebuild about 10K ago and 197K overall blew the belt today. I hear there's a good chance of it bending my valves. Anyone have any accurate opinions, experience, or ideas on this? The head and everything's comin' off ASAP (work is a bitch) but I'm curious how deep in I am. I wish I could do the overall swap to B16, but money...again...is a bitch. Anyone know how hard it is to get in there for this or what kind of time frame I'm about to get in to? Any words would be greatly appreciated...
Well this really sounds like it blows. LITTLE muscle? Aren't we talkin' like a...500lb engine w/ all back? Unless I get jacks, LoL. But hey, who does it the un-manly way? LoL.

Yeah, same thing on my Teg. Sometimes you get lucky.

Blew the timing belt on my D16A6 at 70mph. Lots of bent valves. Big ticket repair bill from Honda. That's what convinced me to start doing my own repairs again, after a lay-off of a couple of years. It only took Honda 3-4 days to get the car back to me, which I guess is a good thing. Considering they charged me over $2500.00 to do it Do it yourself save 2.5K.

I broke 4 timing belts on my D15 before I gave up on it. I never bent a valve. I was never going very fast (D15) so I guess that's the reason why I got lucky.
Uh...I was probably 3/4 the way through third, and had just shifted to fourth. I had power all the way through third, and when I let out the clutch in fourth is when I lost power. I thought maybe I'd lost fuel to the engine so I tried to "rolling-jump" it once or twice, obviously no response. One question though. Bustin' this thing apart tongiht, I encountered that the bolt to get that pulley off the crank to reach the T-belt is on there like..welded, I swear, I can't bust it. Tried an electric and air impact wrench on it. Is there some trick to it? Is it reverse-threaded maybe?
It's not reverse threaded, at least not on my b18c1 its not. its just a b*tch to get off. good luck
I used an impact gun with 150 psi and had to beat on it for a while. Theres a ton of stuff in the archives about the crank pulley bolt.

Where can I find these archives? Are they on here? Maybe I'm missin' somethin' that's right in my face, haha, it happens. So basically you laid the 150 on it and just left it for a couple minutes beatin' the sh*t outta it?

When you search, click on "archived" .. that's the archives.
I used an impact gun at my brother's house. He's got a craftsman 150psi, 30 gallon compressor. I was beating on it at a lower psi like 90 or so, but it wasnt going anywhere, so I just went ***** out and cranked it up to 150 to see how it'd do. I would put it on there and just beat on it until the tank lost pressure and had to recharge. Id let it refill and do it again. I did this like 3 times or so and off it came.

I appreciate it, I'm gonna try that method again tomorrow. I've got a 110 gal 160psi tank goin' at this. yeah, it's big. And a crafstman impact with no extension and I've still got nothin'. Again, gonna re-try my methods. Maybe I'll get lucky. Does it need to go back on this tight?
As long as the clutch is holding, leave it in 5th gear and get a huuuuge cheater/breaker bar. A good impact with high psi blasted repeatedly will probably work as well. The mojority of the d motors that I have touched, have faired well after a broken timing belt.
