Default Removing charcoal canister with stock D16A6

ive got a question that seems unanswered in a lot of the previous posts that i searched through. it seems a lot of you guys are removing it when doing a swap. reading between the lines, i assume the purge cut off solenoid valve that is connected to the charcoal canister is replaced on other engines on the throttle body(i dont really know much about swaps, dont care). but with the stock A6 engine, what can be done about the rubber line #7 going from the charcoal canister to the purge cut off solenoid valve when removing the charcoal canister? what does that valve do anyway? helms doesnt have much info on this, just a diagram.

The valve just lets the hydrocarbons stored in the charcoal canister free so they can go into the engine and get burned up. It just keeps them from getting out at the wrong time (when the engine is not running).

ic. so what should i do about the rubber line to the valve then? plug it and leave it there i guess? and then should i hook the line from the firewall to the nipple at the TB? seems easy enough to me. please confirm.

well, messed around with the valve and canister today and found out that what you said is straight on. however, when the valve does get its vacuum from the back of the throttle body just above the EACV and needs to be plugged if you unplug the purge valve.
