Default Anyone want to recommend an affordable tube bender?

I remember reading a post where some people recommended a couple, but I searched and couldn't find anything.

I need to add a new harness bar to the cage in my civic... the current harness bar is too low for how tall I am... my shoulders are like 3.5 - 4" higher then the harness bar.. which is course is dangerous in an accident.

we want to add a another harness bar by my seat that is like pretty much just an L shape that goes from a higher point on the main hoop and then bend back down to the current harness bar.

My chassis shop guy is very busy, and says he couldnt even have the car there for a month... I need to get this car ready for the track... honestly I wanted to race this coming weekend but I doubt I can get a tube bender soon enough to give us a day to figure the thing out and make this bar.

So... anyone want to recommend a tube bender for doing roll cage... it appears my cage is done in 1 7/8" chromoly. So thats what I need to be able to bend.

Thanks,
Charles

I believe what you are looking at is the tube notcher.

I've heard from a few people that those manual tube benders are extremely tough to bend without the hydraulic setup, just trying to bend it manually..what are your guy's experience bending roll cage sized tubing?

Thanks!!!

Here is a post about the JD2 bender on another board....make sure you read through the post there is some good info! Keep in mind this does not include the extra price of the dies needed to bend the pipe!

thanks everyone.

i ordered a JD2.com Model 3 Bender and Tube Notcher. I cant wait till they get here. I did not get the hydraulic option on the Model 3, because the price difference put me only like $300 or so away from just getting the Model 4... so if I end up using this thing a lot, and I like their product... when its time to go hydaulic ill just get the Model 4.

thanks again everyone.

not mandrel... this is not really the type of bender you would use on making exhaust and intercooling pipes. this is more for chassis work type stuff.
