doesnt the engine usually say b18c5 stamped on it not just b18c...

 

looks kinda shady as the engine number seem a lil tampered with. but it may just be the camera. but it looks to me it says B18C which i would think is GSR motor...but can't really tell
here is a quick run down of the integra motors....
B18B1...94 and up LS motor
B18C1...94 and up GSR
B18C5...TYPE R
on that picture the last number seems to be missing??? i wonder why?

it says its a JDM motor, there is no such thing as a B18C5 in japan.

JDM type R motor's are B18C spec R, there isnt a 5 stamped on the block.

unless its a B18C(GSR) with a B16A head, and ITR intake mani, i'd say its legit.

the valve cover does look a little ghetto tho..

ive seen alot of jdm b18c's and they have that red paint on em.

 

Um yes that is a jdm type r motor with mugen headers 210 hp and yes...ive got to touch it and those guys own the largest east coast honda junk yard. They are outstanding guys and i would give my left nutt for that motor to

yes they do. Why wouldnt they ? For 17k i would hope i would get p/s and a/c.

looks like a b18c with a red spray painted valve cover. i wouldnt buy it until he took a better picture of the block stamp.

 

read my post above. Its a JDM B18c they do't have the 5 stamped if they are. The valve cover looks diff up close its the real deal. For ***** sakes I've laid my hands on the thing. I wouldn't lie to you all, just want you all to know its real! And at its price right now its a steal! He was tryin to sell for 5k.

 

what good is that without the proper ecu?

 

thats why you buy the proper ecu or ecu best fit for the swap

 

It is a type-r motor...check out the intkae manifold. That is not a gsr manifold on there. So I would believe it...but just to be sure I would ask for some clearer pictures of the block stamp.

 

I belive you wotn get all the hp it has unless you run the same octane they run in japan.....

 

What do they run in japan ? The motors oct. is rated about the same as usdm which calls for premium around 92 -94 oct.

 

they run like 98-102 in japan. maybe I'm exagerating, but I know they have at least 98...

 

It looks like a B18C5 to me.. I don't think the JDM motors ever put the last number on there. B16A3, B18C5, etc, etc...

And a higher octane gas is not going to give you more horsepower (not anything more than 1-2 hp, if that).
