newbie: '00 Accord coupe, whats involved in 5 lug conversion?
I like some wheels that are available only in a 5 lug pattern. So I was wondering what exactly do I need to convert to a 5 lug pattern? I have a 4 cyl '00 coupe. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
People ask that a lot just search and you should find plenty of info.....I dont know why you would want 5lug but owell...
Thanks for replying, I did search and it showed nothing. I like a certain style of wheel, and they only have it in a 5 lub pattern in that offset.
you could try doing a v6 break conversion, which would have a 5 lug bolt pattern. dont take my word for it. but a friend of mine wanted to change his prelude to 5 lug and said he could get 5th gen prelude breaks and do a break swap. i wasnt really paying close attention though so i could easily be wrong.

I actually did a 5 lug converstion, It wasnt too hard at all, What you could do is take the whole hub assemblies from a V6, That would work, but... What I did was take the spindles from an Acura TL-s, So I got the the factory upgraded 12 inch rotors in the front and the stock V6 accord ones in the back, It worked out really well.

any factory brake swaps for a 4th gen maybe from a legend or something along those lines, I have a 91 ex with discs in front and drums out back so i wanna switch to discs but i was wondering if it would throw off the braking balance and make the rear slide out more?
I just took off the wheels for the first time yesterday. It has drums on back. I couldn't see because of the damn steel wheels and hub caps. I just bought it last Saturday thinking it had 4 wheel disc brakes. I can't believe manufactors still make vehicles with drum brakes. It's kinda like cassette players still being offered. Why?

i think honda still doing it with the civic ex(abs with drum) and low end accord. don't ask me why
if you swaping with all disk, you'll need p. valve, check the brake mc part number for 4cylinder drum(LX, SE, DX) have the same part number for ex v6, if they have different number, you might want to get the bigger mc from the v6.
the brake cable need to change.
the easiest way for the rear is to get a whole knuckle with brake cable and the whole nine yard

I'm about to do the same 5 lug/rear disc brake conversion on mine. I picked up all of my stuff off of ebay for $400 shipped. Parts are off of a 99 v6 and consist of front and rear calipers, rear knuckle assy with all connecting arms, and the front knuckle/bearing assy. The only thing left to pick up is the v6 p valve which I priced out to be $85 bucks from the dealer
ok so what do i need to do this 5 lug conversion on my '01 accord ex ...
6th gen accord v6:
*knuckles
*hubs
*rotors
what else? ... are v6 calipers different?

yes they are. when you buy them, make absolutely certain you get the 23T bracket with them. You will need it and it is basically not available without the caliper anywhere.
there are a bunch of different calipers you can use. All of these calipers use the exact same pad as the 98 02 accord v6
96 - 97 accord v6
94 - 97 accord wagon
98 - 02 accord v6
97 - 01 prelude
92 - 96 prelude vtec
94 - 01 ITR
2nd gen legend non-GS
2nd gen legend GS - apparently the same pad but dual piston
03 -> accord V6 auto
1st gen TL
1st gen CL v6
00 - 04 Odyssey
1st gen NSX
1st gen CR-V
I made that list back in 06, so it shouldn't be considered comprehensive anymore. It was correct when I made it though.
I got a complete set of rebuilt loaded calipers off of ebay for around $80 shipped, so don't pay through the nose for them.
and for anyone with 4 lugs that just want the v6 brakes, without the hassle of a 5 lug swap, you can use the v6 calipers and 92 - 96 vtec prelude rotors.
