well ive been runing this setup for a while now, and i wasn't sure if many of you were aware of this, but i first did this to benifit the prelude guys buy obviously it applys to accord as well so i figured i would post the link up in here. take a look if you want, let me know what you think

lol , the nice thing is how abundent the f22s are, i think on my trail of boost i will blow one or 2 trying to get the kinks worked out.
im thinking that at somepoint im going to use a f23 block, bigger bore and bigger storke

no durability problems yet, the only thing that has me stuck right now is the screw fell out of my rotor after 2 years of never being touched, and basically destoryed my dizzy, but nothing related to the hybrid
im just waiting on cody from lovefab

Hey man, i will also say congrats i just started the same project, some dude gave me this thread cuz i didn't know it was on here... how did everything work, any major problems? any lil tips and things you think i need to watch out for? im also going to boost it when i get all done putting it in!! keep me updated if you can and if possible send some pics.

You dont have to worry about that, because you wont be revving to 7500 rpm

Simple answers to the both of your dumb questions. If you two spent the time to read his 14 page thread like I did then you wouldnt be asking questions already answered.
And Kg, i read the other thread that was locked and why are you bashing someone one trying to do the head swap anyways? It just seems like your a follower and not a leader, try not to bash and consider it a good idea and give props. Dont bash and say its a worthless swap and its "plain stupid."

I was opting for this route and was ready take on the project til i got T-boned and picked up a AV6. I give this guy lots of props for dumb remarks made by peeps like Kg.

^i don't see how swapping a H22 head onto an old motor not designed for high rpms is smart when you can easily purchase a full H22 swap and get similar results with less headache for similar money. i think that's a legit point that needs to be made. i think too many times people here don't think about the negative aspects of doing such mods. it seems they rather take the cheaper way out, when it the end it may not be.
i used to be a H22 Accord owner btw. i know what i spent and what i got for it when i sold it. it was not worth it, although it was a alot of fun while i had it.

Like i said, if you read the 15 pages like i did, you would know that he isnt building it to get the high RPM VTEC power. Its for boosting. The F block has iron sleeves so it can withstand more boost and the addition of the DOHC head just adds a lil VTEC power into it. You cant boost a H22 to hold like a F will, without internal mods. Even then with internals mods, your gonna need to sleeve the H block to take the new pistons, with the F seris u dont need to do that. So where is your "Much cheaper" theory at now? F blocks are so much cheaper too, you could probably get the block for as much as the H22 head. So in turn he wanted both and was a lil short on cash....so this project came to be. Boost on a DOHC with F series reliability. It wasnt about building it to run to a real H22 redline. It was all about boost and how long it will last or even if it was feasible. It turns out so far that this will work, how long? We dont know, but that shouldnt mean we stop others from trying it out.
Prelittlelude even states that he isnt going to rev it to the prelude redline cuz he KNOWS it wont take it. Those who do build for that reason are stupid.
READ, READ, READ.......15 pages isnt that long now.

i don't have time to read 15 pages. now if it was 15 pages on my EJ20 that's a different story. but why not just get a H23 and boost that??? either way it still seems like a lot of work and money and reliability is only as good as the builder. props to him for doing it
, but this idea is probably not feasible for your average honda owner looking to go turbo or swap. i'd still rather not deal with the BS of turboing a honda motor when there are better ways to have fast turbo car.

Dont have time??? Then dont put down this guys creation or destroy others dreams of doing so. Dont bash til u know the whole story. The World is full of different types of people. Those who take pride in building something of their own and those who dont like that and just buy a already fast car.Im not bashing on either one of these kinds of peeps but i would much respect a guy who builds his own than buys one already built. The whole purpose of building a Honda engine was to beat up on those who like to buy already built cars from the factory, and to show that Honda engines can take some beating and can be something else besides a economy car. It is true that this isnt for the average joe but its all about learning from mistakes. Some like to learn and some dont. Its all up to the person taking up the task.
Why not boost a H23??? cuz as stated b4....COSTS. A H23 block costs more than a F series. F series are a dime a dozen. Its cool that your not up to the task of doing it, but dont bash on it. Its like me bashing on your WRX cuz i dont like it and think its ugly, not worth modding. Would u call that fair...NO.

for similiar money..?!
ill break it down once agian. 150 for complete F22B2 60k miles, 50 for honda head gasket and HondaBond, and misc orings for plugs. 50 to deck my block to et to a 9:1, everything else i had lying around, so total thats of 250.. now lets say you stupid enough a pay a redicioulous price of 500 for a h22 head, which i already had, your still at 750 dollats. can you tell me where to find a H block for 250 or even 750 dollars with 60k on it??
im not forcing anyone to read my thread. if you don't want to fine, theres alot of information and i just want to share in hopes other people will try it
and for reliability , you right , its not fuly proven right now, but mines been going strong for 3 months going on 4 now.
and to address another issue, if i wanted to, i could have bought forged pistons , and maybe even rods, and im sure i could reach way beyond my current power goals for much less than its going to cost to build an H. in the end would a built sleved block be the best yes.. but im not read for that kind of power. i think the F sleves will hold just fine with forged internals to keep me happy for way less than the cost of a sleved H block
bottom line , say i did rev it 7500 all day WHICH I DON'T , and it did throw a rod thru the side, or did spin a bearing, then i would just pick another one up for 150.
good luck with your WRX and thanks for the support AJ , and to everyelse
