I bought 2 12inch rockford fosgate dual 2ohm hx2. what would be the best size amps? i woul dlike to get the most power out of them with out adding any thing besides a capasater.

 

get the 500a2 punch amp, I have this set up... loud as a ***** f#$%

i have the 500a2 and my 2 pounch power subs laughed at it

i know it puts out good power, but its not a ridiculously loud bass amp, i play mids with mine

i say go for a niiiice class d amp like the dei 1100D i have

 

is it punch hx2 or power?, if it's a power...get the MEMPHIS AUDIO MOJO amp (2200watts) or the MMATS amp...RAW POWER!!! and hella clean, too.

 

only good amp that i would recomend for subs are a Rockford Fosgate amp

Dual 2 ohm = 1 ohm...what RF amp does 1 ohm??? From what Ive heard the directed 1100d is good for the price but with any sub in low ohms I HIGHLY RECOMMEND JL AUDIO AMPS

youve obviously never used any brands like hifoncs directed and orion, or youve never even used a class d amp on subs before!

either way i love rf, but only a handful of their amps push mad crazy power to power a good set of subs

the 500a2 that i have too will not be enough for 2 power hungry subs

ive tried it many times!

 

1. jl amps are regulated amps which is like buying a car with a restricting ecu
2. a rockford 500.2 is a good amp for a single punch hx2 not 2 a punch hx2 wants 500w rms
3. dual 2 ohm voice coils can be wired into a 4 ohm configuration by running the voice coils in a series. that is rudimentary stuff.
4. the 2004 model power series rockford amps are made to run at a 2 ohm load and are capable of running a 1 ohm load. the rockford type rf's (thier flagship series) is capable of a half ohm load.
5. try a new rockford (2004 model) t1000bd (1000w rms at 2 ohms) it would suit u perfectly.
6. mmats are NOT clean amps, they are friggin spl amps, try runnin one to mids see how clean it is.

yeah a 500a2 would play one of the subs bridged but 2 is overkill for the amp, i have mine playing 2 69 premeir speakers and its turned all the way up

those rf amps you mentioned must be good stuff, 1000rms at 2ohms is good
