crx w/ h22a swap, is this possible?
I have the money to do it, but I was wondering if it is possible? Would the install be hard? Would the weight of the h22a need to be a worry? Any input on this would be greatly appreciated and if any websites you could site would be sweet

Possible-Yes
Hard-That depends on your definition of hard
Weight-That depends on what you are doing. I've heard its not too bad...

I wont be doing the swap myself, I will have a mechanic do it but i have to guess how long it would take to swap.
Does anyone no anybody who has done this before? Is there a better engine to swap other than the h22a?
I have searched everywhere and cant find a cheap type r motor so the h22a is my next best guess on the most potent engine to swap.
Ive read online that the h22a weighs like 200 pounds more than the stock motor and Im guessing tighter suspension would fix that.
Any other input on this would be grrreat. Thankx

yes it can be done but your going to have to do alot of custom fabbing to get **** to work and custom axles will be in the order as well. weight isnt a huge issue over stock but some people complain of the car handling like **** after the swap but yes as stated above please search there is tons of information to be had about this very swap

It is a pretty difficult swap. You have to practically make your own mounts and such. But yeah please doa search before posting. you will find out a lot more by looking at numerous topics from it

Please do search, but this swap is very possible and not all that hard. See HASport or HCP for mount kits and axles. This swap is about 100 lbs heavier than a b swap (which is about 100 lbs over your stock D motor) so this swap may not be the best choice for an auto-x (mod-d) car or road race car, but has great potential for a strip car.

Yes its esy to do, get some new motor mounts and so forth. the only thing you will lode is your money and some turning. The engine in my opinion is to heavy, i like being able to turn a good deal. and quickly, i would go with something smaller, atleast down to the B18. but with the H22 you will get the horse power, if you wanna drag do it, but if its your every day car, i wouldnt suggest it because its life expectancy isnt thgat great as a commuter car. But yeah its doible and if your intersted in racing on the drag go for it, its an awsome swap for that. But also be aware that its a beast and will take up your engine bay, ive seen some cases where they have swaped it in and didnt have room for other things that they wanted in.
depends on what your looking to get out of the car

search for a guy on here called 2point2 or 2point2crx he has it in his car. I'm surprised nobody mentioned him. You should talk to him about it before you do the swap

yes an h22a crx swap is possible....mount kit, custom axles, little cutting and a few other odds and ends (search)....
but as far as driveability an h22a would not be my choice for a daily driven crx. although the h22a may only weigh 100 pounds more than a b-series motor its a very noticable 100 pounds while making those quick lane changes...also the motor hangs MUCH lower than stock so either sit that crx like a 4x4 or your oil pan will hate you. (trust me I have an h22a EK at almost stock height and my oil pan has gotten it )
if you want to build a reasonably priced drag car than the h22a crx is an exellent choice ( motor's cheap-great power to weight-and you gotta love the tourqe)
