91 LS suspention? daily driven but frequently at 1/4 mile
heres the deal i have a 91 integra LS special and i have pretty much bone stock suspension. I have a fully built motor that as of today is running perfect. I have the horsepower and now my main problem is putting it to the ground. I was told how to remake my tortion bar with hyme joints to stiffen it up and prevent wheel hop all together what springs would be recommended keeping in mind this is my only car and is daily driven? also is there any other tricks with the tortion bar or lower control arms with this car to help it launch better? and do i need to stiffen up my rear suspention to stop the weight from transferring to the back? plz only post something if you think it will help me. .. THANKS IN ADVANCE.
Alright, first of by rear torsion bar I think you mean sway bar. Sway bars don't have anything to with straight line traction, only cornering. The heim joint thing is a good mod, but it's not really a "first mod" type thing, there's many other things you should worry about first before changing to heim joints in the suspension. That's mostly a road race thing.
You'll want to upgrade your motor mount inserts to something polyurethane. The next step up is a traction bar from a place like Z10 engineering. Research what's best because there's a few companies making them now.
Springs, I recommend Skunk2 coilovers or Ground Control coilovers and some good shocks like Koni Yellows. Skunk2 makes a "drag launch kit" which is a set of 900 lb/in rear springs. However you can't run those rates on the street, unless you want to countersteer every turn you make. You can get away with 400 in the front and 500 in the back, which are the springs that come with the Skunk2 kit (skunk2 tells you to put the 500 lb/in the front but putting them in the back would give a better set up for drag as well as autox)
Of course, slicks are always a good idea for a track.
Your main goal should be to take out any play in the suspension that shouldn't be there, that's what poly bushings do. You could run the 900 lb springs just at the track and change them back to the 500s for the street.

another trick is to set the coil spacer in the rear springs
this will eliminate some of the wheel hop
besides stiffening the front end with polyurethane bushings...
