Default Jefferson 500 Recap

Went to Summit from Friday to Sunday to crew for the Jefferson 500, an annual vintage race. FYI - The 944 guys are awesome, definately worth a look if you're looking to go racing.

Click here for the full gallery.

Mmmm Gulf Scheme

Chris

Vette ***

Porsche 908, worth $1.5mil

I guess you don't worry about brake cooling when you don't need to use them?

Beef, it's what's for lunch, dinner, and then breakfast the next day

2003 and 2004 models...

Nice specs...

The car that goes with the specs (worth $1mil)...

Unfortunately it hit oil in 4 and is now a ball of expensive metal

This Lotus looked oh so damn good

Lola Indy Light Cars

This was their pit vehicle

Shiny aluminum bodies own!

:Cream: Alfa

Some Loti

I really love this thing

Regardless what you drive, if you don't have a pass you can't park in the paddock

Track out at 3 had lots of dandelions

Dunno what this is, but it's sexy!

Everyone say a prayer for this car

When cars that were new when you started racing are eligible for vintage racing (a al Shrike S2000?) does that mean you are old?

Oh yeah, Shenandoah is nowhere near being completed. Half of it is still unpaved, and the carousel continues to boggle me.

edit: Said Jefferson, meant Shenandoah.

They're not that expensive, you know. You'll find them for sale sometimes quite cheaply: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&rd=1.

Most people consider the Europa less than a Sterling success for Lotus, though, even though it was one of their most popular models ever. I remember when they'd reign in some autocrosses, but the owners seemed to have the same attitude as the Porsche 914 drivers. In other words, they were a little defensive about their cars and sometimes felt they had something to prove. LOL....

Nice pictures...makes me a little upset that I didn't drive up there for at least a little bit this weekend.

I didn't keep myself informed...what can I say?

For those who care:

In red is what I recall being paved. As you can see, there is a concrete wall on the apex of one of the turns on this ~1 mile configuration.
