Default 93 civic si master cylinder

a friend of mine has this car and his master cylinder has gone bad. He wants to know if there would be any benefit in upgrading to a different master cyl. from a GSR or Type R. Are they any different and are they compatible? Or should he just get another one thats made for his particular car?

they are all compatible and if he gets the largest one inch MC, the pedal will feel firmer.

I don't think so... the teg master cylinders will not fit the civic booster. You need both and upgrade the prop valve also. At least this is what I was told.
