What method do you use and what products do you recommend? Any tips would be appreciated. My Zx-6R is starting to get a little dirty and this will be my first time washing it.

 

when i had my bikes, i would just use regular car wash soap. then dry it really well. you can also put a coat of wax if you feel the need. just dont put anything on the tires.

 

Honda spray cleaner... quick and easy.

 

anybody ever wash there bike like they wash there car...hose it down

 

Just use regular car soap and get some eagle one "wax as you dry" Works out mint

 

I only wash my bike like once a month. The rest of the time it just gets cleaned off with honda polish and a rag.

 

^^ wow man there must be no bugs where live because i can't drive for 5 minutes where i live without having a bug holocaust on my front fairing

 

I use meguiars quick detail stuff everyday to wipe it down, and hose it down every thursday...

ONCE A WEEK I WIPE MY BIKE DOWN WITH A ARMOR ALL CAR WASH WIPE. IT WORKS GREAT

 

I live by PLEXUS. This stuff is the BEST to clean your bodywork. Never scratches windshields or paint, and actually fills in some light surface scratches on bodywork. Plexus leaves your sh*t looking bling bling.

For the thicker grime (and for stuff like swingarm and other dirty places) I use Honda Spray. Works good, and it's cheaper than Plexus.

I only use soft cloths like microfiber.

 

The honda Spray polish cleaner (black can, red type) is the best stuff out there... I use in every inch of the bike (save for tires) and my helmet as well. It works great no matter how dirty it is... Bike looks brand new all the time.

 

Can you put that stuff on the decals too? and what about water spots? because i have them too? and how to get rid of them. i will be washing my bike soon

 

Just wash her down with some general car wash soap and water, then while she's still wet get some "wax as you dry" spray wax and you are all good. Just dont put the spray wax on your windshield becuase it leaves a waxy residue (probably wax )

Yes, the Honda spray will take care of this. But believe me, I use to be hooked on Honda Spray until I used PLEXUS. It's worth the extra buck or two. Use it, your bike will thank me.

 

i just bought that spray from honda called spray cleaner and polish. that will work on the bike too? also do you hose the bike down then use it or just apply when the bike is dirty. ALSO, can you use a a degreaser solution and dilute it with water to a 50/50 mix on the rims and on the metal frame? because i have a 98 gsxr 600 and i am going to clean it tommorrow. what else do i need?

 

also could you use like metal polish on the frame?
