i did a search already. im planning on getting an intake and want to know what people are suggesting. in particular i thinking about the comptech ice box. how's the install? is it worth the cash? better deals out there?(i'd also like to keep my car sounding pretty much stock, and i have blown up my old cars first engine with a CAI and a decent sized puddle)

 

no comptech icebox doesn't yield much gains, aem v2 is good.

Are you sure about that? Do you have any dyno charts to back this up?

I have seen idependant dynos with the v2 on an EP3 which show losses in power throughout the power band, and then a gain of about 5hp up top. If you ask me that is virtually useless, unless you are a dyno queen looking for a good peak power number. The only dyno charts I have seen for the Ice Box on an EP were from Comptech, so take it for what it is worth... The charts tell a similar story to the V2, only it doesn't seem as dramatic. The charts can be found here:

I haven't seen any dyno charts of a stock EP with an AEM CAI, but I have seen the charts of an AEM CAI with a Hondata flash, and I can say that the combo provides some solid power throughout the power band. Various charts are floating around the web, and I believe a couple can be found on Hondata's website.

or an injen cai.

comptech airbox is good for the midrange, but the down to the nitty gritty, it doesn't flow as great as a cai would.
