Type R fuel pump into an EG?
Just wondering if it's just a strait up swap?
Set up: EG,B16 type R headers (jspec) R t/b and i/m - skunk cams
seems to fun a little funky when it gets to about 110mph
I do have a fuel pressure reg on it - don't have a gage on it (bad)
I also got a vtec controller and just trying see if a fuel might help-

On a stock B16 motor, an aftermarket fuel pump is not necessary. First things first.... get a fuel pressure gauge so you can tune the FPR and go from there. If problem still persists, then you may want to change the fuel filter on the firewall. If problem still persists, change the O2 sensor. The O2 sensor reads the exhaust temps and mixtures and sends a signal to the ECU on how much fuel to dump with the air coming in. If the O2 sensor is bad, then it's not going to give the ECU the correct mixtures to use on your motor.
You usually don't need a bigger fuel pump unless you're going with a much bigger motor (like a H22), going super high compression (over 12:1), or going FI (turbo, SC, NOS), since a larger fuel pump will just push more volume.... then restricted by the injectors and controlled by a FPR.

not 100% sure if the itr pump is the same, but a gsr fuel pump goes into an eg perfectly. easy replacement swap. the d series pump flows 79 lph, and the gsr 135 lph, as discussed here:

Great info guys - in the near future i'm going to slap the b18c5 so I might go for it and install the r pump so I don't have to when I go w/ the R. I'm just loving the b16 right now , it's been treating me right. This weekend I took it up again and it didn't feel funky like last run. I pulled to about 185km and it was all gravy. I did change a few settings on the vtec controller. I went a little rich once into vtec and picked up the vtec change over to about 56k- (stock pr3 6k) -

If you don't NEED a bigger fuel pump unless the reasons given above, then WHY did HONDA put higher flowing fuel pumps in all the cars with stock DOHC VTEC engines?
