Quick, Dumb Q.....Timing....
I changed my headgasket and when I set the timing after putting everything back together, the cam gears point straight up with the white dot matching up to the lower cover, and then straight down with one full revolution on the crank pulley back to TDC.....
Meaning when I turn the crank pulley over and then match the TDC mark, the cam gears are either gonna be pointings straight up or straight down. Is this normal? My car still doesn't start

your car is out of time.bring your motor to tdc on #1 cylinder, then make sure your
cam gears"white marks" are straight across "level with the head".put the timing belt on exhaust side first, you may have to use a wrench to keep it from moving on you.then turn the motor 3/4 of a turn then tighten the timing belt.

I'm not sure what you mean. You mean the tensioner? The cam gear arrows are pointing straight up when the tdc mark on the pulley matches up, but it takes two full revolutions of the pulley to put the cam gears back at tdc.
