Default thoughts on viper's XV 2-way paging systems?

was looking at the 791, read several threads about it, mostly regarding the paging abilities...nothing decisive was said. is it just a "standard" alarm system with a paging feature? i like the option of the turbo-timer as well... let me know your experiences on these. thanks

my friends have that viper alarm.. they seem to love it.. the range of the remote seems to be pretty good.. only downside ive heard so far is the remote seems like a toy but if it works it works..

You hit the nail on the head. basically the responder systems
are designed to have a londer range for the remote start system.
That it in a nutshell...DEI asks the installers during training and
polls customers about improvements. This was an idea provided
some years ago...to combine a max range remote start system
that would say let you know if your car was started when you could
directly see it.

would you guys consider this a "top of the line" system out of the box as compared to other systems? or are there some alternatives i should look into?

its areally good system, the only downside is the LCD remote is expensive. I do car audio for a living and ive seen alot of these little guys go bad and break. and its 100 dollars for a new one.

true.. but any LCD alarm keyfob is expensive.. the older model remotes that came w/ the 790 were more prone to breaking then the new ones that came w/ the 791 and matrix 3.5

a few other systems to check into are the audiovox aps 996c, dei hornet 554, compustar, clifford 3.5rs dont even look at the cheaper systems thats are sold on ebay, they SUCKASS!!
