Default Does anyone use plexiglass enclosures anymore?

A few years back I saw someone with a totally clear enclosure made from plexiglass panels. Anyone else ever seen one?

Wonder how they are... It looked sweet.

Well 8-10 years ago...plexi was not as 'in demand' as it is now.
I remember going to a glass shop and getting a 4x8 .25" mirror
sheet for like 15.00 retail...after a summer it shot up to 4x4 for
$75.00. WTF .. I asked the owner. whats up...oh yeah its cause
the 'car audio' guys are using it in installs.

There was a few companies who main plexi boxes a few years ago,
but basically it sthe cost factor...ever price .75 - 1.00 plexi that stuff
isnt cheap. Add to that the correct glue that bonds it that dries clear..
you atre spending major coin. There are some shop sthat will do it
..if the prices is right.

How thick does the plexi have to be? What specific glue is required?

Hmm...lets see. using the avg of .75 ( 3/4 ") a 48x32 sized sheet
would run $212.58. ( 1" $273.58 / 1.5" $620.62) . Add to this the
cleaners, etchers, polishes, and cements...the costs are way up there.
