Default could car be too low?

hey i was wondering if you can lower a car too much, so that it hurts its performance. i use to run consistent 14.7 and since then i basically slammed my car on some shitty coilovers with more than likely some shitty spring rates, and i cant launch well anymore only running 15.0. do you think it has to do with the ride height or maby the camber problem. i just need help. thanks alot

Absolutely!! Lowereing a car that is not made to be lowered can severly kill performance. Expecially in drag racing where you want the full tire contact patch on the surface. You will definitely need a camber kit that will adjust up to 3 degrees and an alignment to make sure the tires are tracking in the right direction so you aren't plowing.

Agreed... Not to mention the great importance of spring rates. Weight transfer off of the line is vital to a good run. That being said... Were your 60' times the same before and after lowering the car?

my 60ft times went from 2.31 area to 2.4x it did make a considerable difference. i was told that if i raise the car up so that the axles are straight then it should help out quite alot.i also plan to run some stiffer springs in the rear next time
