2 HT members including myself was scammed for over $2K by HT member KATb16VO. He's name that we all sent money to was ANDREW TROUNG of SAN JOSE,CA.

We have all contacted him through emails, phone calls, and IM/PMs. None of us has gotten through to speak with him. If anyone can help with this matter it will be much appreciated.

Sorry to hear that man. But honestly, if you read through the thread, there were three of you guys saying the same thing about one supposed kit being sold to three individuals. Also, he has only 100 some odd posts and is a new member. You should have been a little wiser with your money buy hindsight is always 20/20. The three of you guys should get together and make a special road trip and kick his ***.

 

Yea, and we sent it to San Jose, not Fresno. (Hopefully theyre not the same place and Im just retarded or something).

I agree that we could have been more thorough about the post count, but I talked to him on the phone and through emails and PM's for almost a week, I figured that a scammer wouldn't go this far for my lousy small amount of cash. He ended up getting a bigg @ss chunk from the 3 of us total though.

Actually Freson is in lower California, roughly 2 hours from LA while San Jose is more ariund the SF bay area. Roughly six hours apart. Man, this guy is pretty smart about the scam b/c he made you feel good about the small amount of money but did if to a couple of guys. At any rate, report his ***. This **** has got to stop.

 

I agree that he needs to be reported and stopped, Im just afraind that after the whole investigation goes through and he gets charged with mail fraud and fellony and whatnot, that I wont see my $$ in the end. I want him to stop, but what I sent him was all the money I had for this project more or less, so I want my $$ back.

He did provide vouches, and they checked out. He said he didnt have a digi cam, and getting a hold of one to take a pic of a sealed box was useless (un-opened kit). I saw his reasoning then, because as far as I knew he was a good guy.

 

I can't blame you for being a trusting guy because I am the same way but reading all these threads about being scammed has made me more jaded and alert now. The guy really had this scam thought out thoroughly.

 

That he did, but now he has to be stopped. That was all my money, I need it back. Help guys?

 

Fresno is roughly 2.5 hours away from San Jose.......and 3 hours north of LA....sorry to hear bout what happened......

i fu have a reciept of the money order or paypal etc...contact them if u used a CC do the same..... im 30mins from Fresno if that helps any...

Sorry to hear 3 of you guys got scammed.. But damn it seems very fishy already when he tryin to sell 3 of you guys the same kit.... How is that possible???? Unless he has a company of his own or a business he run..... But I doubt it..... When I read the whole post and replies it all seems shady to me already... Hmm, he probably has over $3k of you guys money... U guys need to do something don't let him walk away happy with that hard earn money of yours..... U guys need to plan a road trip summer is coming up soon you should plan a trip.. Get some H-T members from that area too if that helps... Then take back what you lost and take whatever is left in his garage... Then put his *** behind bars

btw in defense to all 3 of us getting jipped..

none of us (or at least i didn't) knew that anyone else was buying the kit.

i talked to him on the phone and through emails on a daily basis for about a week or so thus i didn't check this board often. I finally realized what had happened when I saw both of them post "sold to me".. but by then he had already received my money order.
