Comptech sway/tie bar??
i am assuming that since its Comptech that the quality is well above par, but how big of a difference will i see over my stock sway w/o tie bar on my RS?
i have heard that this is a very worth while mod for suspension, am i right?
also what is the difference (if any) b/t this 22mm Comptech bar and the 22mm ITR bar? (besides the adjustability)
thanks

I went from an RS bar to a Comptech set-up. Huge difference. Night and day.
The endlinks are heim-jointed and adjustable, and the swaybar is three-way adjustable... really the only major difference between the Comptech bar and an ITR set-up.
Anyway, well worth it.

ok another question, would it be worth ~$279 more dollars just to get the adjustability and the tie bar??
does the tie bar actually make that big of a difference?

FYI for those that already have them, Comptech has just gotten their new endlink kits. It gets rid of the spacer on the LCA end which shortens the LCA bolt and it uses a U-bracket instead. I had bent both of those bolts twice and I have been to 2 events so far with the new ones and they are holding up just fine.
That means the Comptech bar is even better now. So yeah, get one.

I just recently put one of these on my 94 LS (along with Koni yellows and stock-rate Ground Controls). The quality is definitely top-notch, though I did have to slightly adjust the position of a couple of the holes where it bolts to the subframe.
With the stock GC rates (350F/275R) and the Comptech set at the softest setting, it feels neutral to slightly pushy to me. This is a vast improvement over the stock suspension, which was a plowing pig. I now have the ability to steer with the throttle and can actually get some lift-throttle oversteer, both of which were non-existent with the stock suspension.
As for whether the tie bar is worthwhile or not, I decided to go with this setup vs. a Type R rear bar partly because of the tie bar. The two main reasons I like the tie bar are that it should prevent tear-out without forcing me to modify the subframe, and Honda considered it important enough to put one on the Type R, so it must do some good.
edit: Oh yeah, the handling impressions are from tracking it; haven't autocrossed on this setup yet.

i would definitly be getting the BSQ sub-frame reinforcing kit

Get the Comptech sway/tie bar combo. It's REALLY worth it.
The tie bar is actually a very nice piece. It's ultra light and super strong made by billet aluminum. Besides reinforcing your subframe (it serves as the mounting bracket for the sway bar), it also ties the 2 control arms together to reduce flexing and absorb some of the forces. It also looks great. I have the silver one but I think they come in 3 or 4 other colors now. I still like the silver
I thought the endlinks and all the hardware is top notch. My comptech sway & tie has been through 3 different suspensions in the last 3yrs and I have not had any problems with bolts or the end links. I do 25-30 auto-x events a year and it's held up fine. I had a race shop install them and now that I think about it, they used longer LCA hardened steel bolts. They had tons of new shiny #8 and #10 bolts and fasteners so they replaced all the old bolts. Regardless, if there was a problem with the old Comptech kit where your LCA bolt would bend or break (I 've never heard of anyone having this problem with Comptech in the last 5yrs), I 'm sure the new ones come with the new end-link design.
Hurry up and do it. Don't delay. Makes a huge difference.

I've got the comptech tie bar on my Si and I was wondering if it would be ok to jack on it? It looks like the stoutest thing on the car
Anyone ever jack on theirs? I'd hate to bust something
