D2 racing sports coilovers?
anyone heard of these or know whether theyre good/bad quality? i found them on modacar, they're aluminum, they have adjustable dampening, i think 32 way, adjustable shock body, pillow ball mounts, and theyre $900
here's a pic:

EDIT: they have 36 way adjustable dampening, here's a link to their website, they seem to have some pretty good products: http://www.d2racing.com.tw

They are from taiwan, they cant be that bad
If you dont like them you are only out $900. You can always sell them if you dont like them.

I've seen in a few Taiwanese magazines tons of Suspension parts and Coilovers. They manufacture lots of different coilovers. Those D2's look nice, they should be fine

Actually...we just got back from laguna seca where we were testing them on an ek....In short they were okay
We actually had real goodluck using the omnipower full coilovers. They aren't dampening adjustable, but on our eg hatch they worked extremely well. The car was super stable and we were able to push the car to the limit of our tires(toyo t-1s). That just my opinion

I have these for my 93 NX2000 - there were 2 big group buys on the NICO forums that started around Jan. - I got mine for $710 shipped (including all four mounts - fronts are camber adjustable pillow ***** + extra springs), but since D2 secured some US distributors, they'll never be that cheap, unless you've got connections in SE Asia
I haven't installed these yet, so I can't tell you what I think, but I know some B13 and 240 guys that love them - most guys run 7/5 and say they're very firm, but liveable. There's a few weird things though: they have no bumpstops and don't have directions/information.
So, I guess I'd say don't buy em for $900 - if you saw them for 6 maybe 7, try em out, but there are so many other good Honda coilovers out there in the same price range, that it'd be a tough decision

Please explain why you would consider buying something you don't know anything about?
They're the cheapest thing on the market and they're gonig to perform like... well, the cheapest thing on the market. They're disposable bling from no-name companies.

well, i believe thats why i made this thread; to see if anyone DID know something about them and could give me any info on how they performed. i'm only trying to find the best product for my money here, and if you don't have any personal experience with them, then your post is useless. thanks anyway.

I'd try to find out what the spring rates are and then if they suit your application, give 'em a shot. For that price, you're not going to find much else unless it's used, and even then it most likely won't have adjustable shocks (Ex: Apexi WS Coilovers).
i looked all over the website to see if they had custom spring rates and couldn't find anything. they do make their own LCA's and other parts though, but you'll have to call a manufacturer to see if they can get custom spring rates.
If you are interested in them for performance driving, see if you can get a shock dyno graph on them as that is the only true data measurement of what they actually do. This will also tell you if the 36 adjustments really do anything or make any real changes in performance. If you find a link or a graph, post it.

That can't be the same D2. The website says they were formed in 1997. here is a pic of Dario Franchitti racing a D2 Privat sponsored DTM car from 1995:

How they are able to get away with that, I don't know.

after 2 seconds of searching... i have determined that "D2 Privat" as seen on those MB touring cars is a european wireless company... and D2 racing sports just copied the name and logo. hell i would have too. **** they had me fooled and i closely follow motorsports.
