b16a1... shipped out on monday from hmotorsonline.. should be here in about 2 more weeks. I'm trying to get the car prepped and ready for it. Shaving side moldings, also removing traces of rust that I see, painting engine bay, exterior and interior black. Lots of work still to do, only that passenger side is even started, and its not even finished yet, still gotta sand the bondo smooth. I'll keep putting up new pics as I make progress.

ps. quick fix bondo is da shiznit.. can work with it all you want inside the garage, roll it outside, and it dries in 10 minutes.

You're filling the entire molding section with bondo?

if done well, i think this is a great mod........but you gotta make it look smooth......i saw one around town here in michigan the other day, super clean car, painted to look factory and stuff, just wheels, lowered, and exhaust, but man, the moldings were shaved, and it looked shitty.......really shitty. nice paint, but the doors were SOOOOOO rippled. looked weird.

fiberglass then bondo? I working on redo'ing a car and just trying to figure out what to do about the side moldings that are missing. Don't feel like buying them and wondering if its just cheaper to shave it

ps: i'm guessing you mean fiberglass.... i know about * much about bodywork . My idea of it is taking a hammer to my fenders for rolling and using a 5ft bar to bend the front rad support

Why do you bondo the cracks? Why not apply a slop of resin in the cracks, and build on that and sand that down. Your bondo wont be there anymore in 2-3 years, especially since its applied to that flat portion of the car.

the bondo is wayyy easier to mold on there than resin, resin just would drip everywhere and make a huge mess. the seats are not si seats.. i have no idea where the original seats went, i got this car less than a year ago with these seats. I'm going to get some corbeaus or something cuz those are lame seats.

I've got LOTS of work still to do.. its going to be black so I have to get the molding pretty much perfect.

oh, and that camaro is a customers car, i'm working on a fiberglass trunk for it. 4 L710's, 4 amps.

i think i'll like it.. i would really like if they would make some carbon fiber fenders with that trim already shaved.. that would be sweet. The front and rear bumpers will get replaced with a body kit or something one day, but performance, and working with what I got is the thing at hand.

bondo would be easy to get outta the moldings, grinder w/air tank. Kitty hair on the other hand.. its not going anywhere, that stuff is hardcore.

Just out of curiousity, how much do you think those side moldings weigh? I try to strip 5 lbs a week outta my HF, and I'm starting to run out of ideas.

Bondo goes knowwhere!!!!!

I used bondo over top of fiberglass when I molded my side mouldings, and I also molded my kit all the way around and fixed all my rust with bondo and fiberglass.

I also have a competition destroying stereo which obviously shakes the car like a mother ******, not one crack for a daily driven 152db car

You just have to do it right
