Hello, I'm going to attempt to install a USDM oil pump onto my JDM B18C motor so I can pass smog, I have the crank angle sensor along with the USDM oil pump that I'm going to try and install so I can run an USDM ITR ECU with out a CEL.

The question I have is will I need a USDM crank gear or can I use the JDM one that's on the motor. I think there's a possibility that the JDM crank gear is different because it doesn't require a crank angle sensor but I'm not sure.

Does anyone have any experience installing a crank angle sensor and USDM oil pump onto a JDM motor?

I hope this makes sense.

Please help!

I have done this before.

You'll need the following USDM parts:

Crank gear
CFK sensor and bracket
Oil pump
Lower timing belt cover
Oil pump gasket
Wiring harness

BTW you will also need a USDM intake manifold for the EVAP solenoid and vacuum lines. You can ghetto rig the JDM one but they could fail you for it.
Throttle body, you need to remove the vacuum line (metal dick that sticks out) That goes to the canister. capping it will do, but again they could fail you for this also.

Thank you very much for the info. Do you have any idea where and how much a usdm crank gear costs, can I use any usdm crank gear from a obdII b series motor?

Any B-series OBDII crank gear should work, especially B18C and B16A.
if not wrecking yard, dealerships would have them

Yeah, I'm pretty sure thats what they mean. The timing belt drive pulley has the "teeth" that the sensor needs.

So what you're saying is there is a difference in the crank gear from OBD1 to OBD2?

I just do the switch.

You need the crank timing belt gear and the key to lock it. (not built in the gear like the jdm).
