ABS light after Tein Coilovers
Last night I installed a set of Tein Basic's on my friends 2000 accord 4cylinder, (Whatever model that is, I forget off the top of my head... I'm a MB guy) everything went real well, but when we got in and took it for a spin, the ABS light came on. Now I'm trying to think what I would have touched in the brake system. Other then taking the hose braket off of the rear stabilizer bracket on the right rear side, I can't think of anything. However, since we did it on jack stands that the brake fluid sensor thought the fluid was low, but the light still did not turn off after driving around. I won't have access to a scanner untill probably tuesday, since Snap-On is repairing my shops. Anyone have a similar problem after lowering their car?

check the little wind mill thing, it's the hall effect wheel for the abs sensor.
maybe you got some grease on that suck and it's reading something else.
btw is it a hard or soft code?

I haven't been able to hook anything up to it yet. I'm assuming it's still a hard code. However, we are going to bring it to Sears to have it aligned so maybe I can find someone I know or can smooze into letting us hook up for free.
I didn't think about debris in the hall effect, I'll check that. I haven't done any real suspension or brake work for like 6 months, I've been doing mostly driveablity... I must be getting a little rusty.
Thanks again!

hay what it could be is with these newer cars they got alot of stuff to them if your not trained ( not to say you arn't) what could be happening is you have three sensors in a car for the braking, metering valve, height proportioning valve, and combination valve. your height sensing proportion valve could be sensing a heavier load than normmaly cause of your lowering of the car, making your abs light come one. the metering valve work on the and the combo valve work on the rear and front brakes helping create stababilty in the braking system. so i can probaly pretty much say it could be your height sensing valve.

You can check the codes by jumping the SCS connector.

It would be pretty interesting for one of those to go bad, Accords don't have them. LOL
