Can I buy a BRAND NEW D16Z6 from Honda Motor Co.??????
Since obviously i blew my motor (you seen the video) Im in the market for a new one, I AM BROKE, i cant afford a B series so im wondering if i can get a brand new D16 (SOHC Si motor) from Honda? I am just curious, because i know one of the guys that works there and he said he will do a D series swap for me easily and cheap, the B series is another story.
So please let me know soon, thanks..........

ummm i'm sure in the event that you can get one (highly unlikely) it will be just as, if not more expensive then a b series swap... for a BRAND new d16z6 from honda..
no you cant. I work at a dealership and we cant sell you a complete D16z6 brand new OEM from the factory. We can sell you every OEM part for the d16z6 individually, but not the whole thing. Even if we could you wouldn't want to buy it because of the insane price. a BARE d16z6 head is over $1100 dollars MY cost (which is 10% over what the company gets it for.)
usually what we do when a car needs a new engine is scout one thats been re-built, or have the customer bring us one that they find.
I've gotten 4 motors so far, all with minor problems that i fixed easily. a d15b7, d15b2, d16z6 and a d16y8. i love working for Honda.

Echo.
To get a complete brand new D16Z6 you'll be spending over what a good old complete B16A swap would cost.

It must depend on the dealership. Local dealerships in alabama will not put in a motor that we supply. Others will order complete NEW motors for you and install them.

what do you think my car would run with a b16 and some small motor mods like exhaust, headers, intake? Its stick incase you havent seen it, and it does have a system that adds some weight but you think it will run around a 15? my goal is a low 14 or lower after i put money into it.

Really?
I thought you had to buy the complete shortblock and then buy the cylinder head assy and mate the two.
I didn't think they offered a complete factory assembled longblock from the factory.
Is this something his dealer can offer as some package deal or something?

You can get one from Majestic Honda. Definately NOT worth the price though.

ask your friend that works there... not worth it imo, but if you can get some sort of inside deal it might be a little better
