Put the tires on (make sure they are balanced properly), then mount the wheels and you're ready to go.

take it to your local tire shop to install it......they should balance it out for you....dont worry about the weights.....they will handle it for you.....

I think youre referring to the metal weights that clip on the rims.

when youre at the tire shop, ask them to balance the rims from the inside so you wont have the weights clamped on the outter rim.

i work at the shop. im not a technician, but they always told me with my wheels, that a dynamic balance (sticky weights inside the rim) so there are no weights visible from the outside is not as good as a static balance (weights clip to outside lip) which will give the wheel/tire a true balance. it can be balanced either way, but the static is supposed to be better. some wheels have to be dynamic balanced though.

i work in a tire shop and this is what we do.

for any aftermarket wheels, we do not use the metal hammer on weights.
some shops are dumb, you may need to specify that you want a TAPE BALANCE.

also to get a better balance, get a TWO PLANE balance. that has weights on the inside and outside, hence two plane. these are stick on weights that go on the inside of the wheel, not hammered on to the lips.

also, go way before the shop closes. when its time to close, work is rushed.

haha wrong, stick-on weights inside the rim are better than hammer-on weights on the outside.

Actually the best way to balance the wheel/tire is to use both stick-on weights on the inside, and hammer-on weights on the inside edge of the wheel (facing the brakes). That's how I balance my wheels at the shop where my friend works, no vibrations at all (even though all 4 of my GS-R wheels are bent slightly on the inside, you can't tell by looking at them, though), and there are no visible weights on the outside.

Agree totally, I would go earlier in the day so they have plaenty of time. YEa, the dynamic tape will be best for that type of wheel. Like Patrick said, they also could do on e clip-on weight, and one tape on weight, works good too

Well sometimes it takes more than one weight to get it balanced... some of my wheels have like 2 or 3 clip-ons and a bunch of stick-on sections... the balance machine should show exactly where and how much of each weight to install. It will also place the stick-on weights behind the spokes to further hide them from view.

I have my si wheels balanced and the local race shops in here charlotte and they said my SI wheels are perfect with no weights when they balanced it. I have all tires with no weight and im surprised myself even the guy that balanced it, he said he never seen anything like it. No shakes or nothing...im happy with no weights....
kinda wierd but drives good....
