jim fab crossmember sucks, wont clear my header
heres the deal, after saving up for my jim fab crossmember, paid $365. shipped from expospeed. and saving up for a jun header, i tried tonite, to put on the crossmember w/the jun header on the car. and it wont work, one side bolts up, the other side, is about 1" off. now not sure what to do. sell my jim fab and get a z10 brand, or cut my stock crossmember. help me out here all. thanks alot. will try to post up pics, and gonna email me expospeed to see if they will take it back.

whats up all. first person with $310. takes it. not even a mile on it, still brand new, or $340. shipped, i dont wanna lose alot on it.
and the thing w/the jdm itr header, it sits to low to the ground, i had 2 of those already, only headers on the market that sit like stock are, jun, toda, and a custom one. so now i am fucked, not sure what to do. i am gonna ask z10, if theres will clear a jun header. but i will post it up forsale soon. thanks all

Jim fab bars do not suck... you should have talked with JimFab about the header you were trying to use. you know the JDM Type-R header has issues with fitment...you should have done your homework and made sure it was going to work. your bad.

Idanno but, you'd think they'd design them to clear any header - people aren't buying these bars for their stock grocery getters.

I'm guess you are talking about the DC jdm 4-1 and not the OEM one.... because that sits like stock being that it is stock

They look beautiful compared to the Jim Fab/Z10/Comp Eng bars. I would've bought their prototype off of them a week or two ago, but I didn't have the funds for it

I have pics of it installed on C Jackson's car, but they're still on a roll of film which I haven't finished up yet. Chicago ppl will be able to see the crappy pics I took (I'll be back in Chicago in a few days).

I know I'd of assumed a jimfab bar would clear about any header...isn't that one of the main points with a aftermarket x member? Or does the JUN one look functified?

i personally haven't seen the jun header, but if the JDM type-r had fitment issues i would think the Jun...since its JDM...and the mugen...since thats JDM would also have fitment issues. they would be close to the style of the oem jdm woudn't it.
thats just my assumption.
anyways jim fabs r&d should have all this worked out already as well so poo on them too.

thats rite, jdm itr headers on a crx thats been lowered are low, even in chicago w/all are streets fucked up and ****. but ya, the jun header i got, sits like stock.

jimfab is custom making jimfab bars to clear with a 2.5 header. If you interested in that maybe they will do an exchange and you can throw in a little cash? Talk to them see what happens. They seem to be good people. They told me they had bents at the front and it clears the header im waiting on a price quote and then im probably going to order one.

Is Jimfab supposed to test every header out there on the market? You guys dont get it..... if they were to do that , they would have to charge $1000.00 for every crossmember just to break even on all the R&D.....
