Default Check Engine Light after JDM header install

Installed dc sports jdm header and car sound cat. About a week after installation the check engine came on. I havent had a chance to run the code what do you think could be wrong? I tapped in the o2 sensor after the cat. What could be wrong?

The O2 after the cat might not be seeing what it likes.
also did you re-check the wires?

It's possible that the O2 sensor was damaged.

Check to see if it's a code 67. I bet it is. If so, let me know. I think the same problem I'm having.

Make sure you properly torque the O2 sensor. Any outside air will kill it fast. I have the JDM headers and never had the MIL coming on..

You car will waste a lot of gas and all the emission system will be running in open loop mode. Which means none of the sensor's reading will be acknowledge by the ECU. I don't like the idea of running in open loop. Get the problem fix now to avoid any future complicatioins.

i have the same problem with my landspeed cat. it is most likely code number p0420- cataylist under threshold. which means, that the second o2 sensor is not picking up enough change in exhaust gas emission so it throws the code. obdII systems are very, very touchy. good luck.

If you can find out what code the MIL is showing, I can tell you what the code stands for. Email me if you need it. Pair72@adelphia.net

Mechanic says that its setting off the code for the cat. He says not to worry about it, its just because of its higher flow rate of stock. Does the car go into a safe mode when the check engine light goes on?

You can always get the OBDI conversion

thats what I was thinking of. Would I gain any power from switching to obd1 and tuning with hondata? I currently have comptech icebox, dc jdm header, and car sound cat.
