Default SI MOUNTS PROBLEM

I BOUGHT SOME SI MOUNTS FROM SOMEONE ON HERE THAT ARE SAID TO BE NEW AND HAS NEVER BEEN USED AND WHEN I RECIEVED THEM ON ONE OF THE MOUNTS the rubber that surrounds the metal hole is all busted AND ON THE OTHER ONE IT LOOKS BRAND NEW AND FACTORY. THE GUY TOLD ME THAT THIS IS NORMAL FROM FACTORY AND IT WAS SURPOSE TO LOOK LIKE THAT I WAS WONDERING IF FACTORY MOUNTS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THAT?

SAMPLE PICS OF THE MOUNTS THAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.

I'LL TRY TO POST PICS OF THE REAL ONES TOMORROW AND OF THE PROBLEM.

Let me ppost a pic for you. These are the mounts I sold you. They where bolted on the brackets and that was it(thats why you can see rust stains). They where never installed in the car and the mounts are fine. I dont sell trash so here is a pic of the mounts I sent you they are fine. If there was a problem I would have refunded your money but what I sent you was two mounts that where out of the bag less than 2 hours.

it looks to me that the mount above is torn. If you take a close look you can see it. I'm not sure though, but just from looking I would say it is.

Those mounts look brand new.

What you're seeing is the extra rubber **** that looks torn/ripped when in fact that's normal.

If those mounts pictured are the exact ones sold, then you have no problems.

There shouldn't be any rust. They look used and broken.
Those mounts aren't any good.

Either get a refund from the guy, or use 3M Windo-Weld to fill them in. Here's a very well written How-to by importnut.com on how to do it. I used this method on my mounts when I did my swap, and it definitely helps reduce wheel hop while also repairing torn mounts. its also cheaper than buying poly motor mounts from ES or prothane. Just my .02

First off eveyone dont get you nuts in a bundle and calm down. The mounts came out of the bag and we bolted them to the bracket. We ran into other problems with the motor at the same time and I needed to order a few parts. I ordered hasport mounts along with the other parts I needed. I asumed they where fine because they came right out of the bag and put them up for sale. I am refunding him half of the money for the mounts. As you can see from the pic I posted a quick look at the mounts and they looked fine I guess I should of looked closer.

BTW:

You don't even need to buy new mounts. Energy Suspension poly inserts will fix those torn mounts.
