What Headers Can i use!?!
I have a 92 Integra Gs. My problem is header choice. What headers will work on my car, There are some headers that are supposed to be designed for my car, but im hoping for a single piece design. Wondering if there are headers that work for my car, that were supposed to be designed for a mayeb 3rd Gen Teg?? Preferably 4-1... however lemme know of 4-2-1's that will work as well.
i dunno if its the same on a gs but my gsr just got its one piece jdm header installed and the crossmember had to be notched to fit it in. and its a TIGHT fit. if i were you id go for a two piece header for ease of installation. u could do it yourself with a two piece. i did one piece cause i got it for cheap from a buddy and a good install price from a shop. comptech, dc sports stainless steel, i hear weapon r makes one though ive never seen it, ANR, hytech, and of course the jdm ones. i do know a guy who got a USDM type R header on his 90 ls that fit very well and gave him a nice boost in power so u might check that out.
comptech 4-2-1 and edelbrock pro-flo 4-2-1 are recognized as some of the best headers for under $500 USD. If you want a 4-1, the best bang for your buck would be the dc sports JDM 4-1, but apparently it hangs really low and scrapes on lowered cars.
Pretty much any B series header will work fine with your application, however some will require slight modifications to the exhaust. It's all a question of how much money you want to spend.
I love it. quality craftmenship and design. The header was dynoed on a gsr in import tuner and put down 13 hp up top and up to 10 lbs of torque on a car with an intake and stock exhaust. edelbrock is slept on for compact performance IMO.
i knew that all bseries headers will bolt up to every b seris head. but i found out the hard was why all headers for a 2g are 2 piece.
a second gen integra has a very small engine bay and the crossmember is very close to the engine.
to run a 4into 1 header the crossmember has to be notched to clear the header.
i bought a greddy 4-2-1 header 1 piece for my car and i had to take off the cross member to get the header on

if you actually looked around at the headers available, you would have noticed they are model specific.
Unless you or someone you know is good at weld work, stick to your model.

I'd like to see that dyno'd in person.

I know that they all bolt up... but my actual questions are more along the lines of where the end drops out to... i dont care how far back it ends... i just need it to be in the same place as far as the height, and how far left/right it drops...
As far as installation goes... that isnt a problem...
Also, would it make things easier if i just went with FAL fans? (comes back to the issue of where the end of the header drops to.)

He did say header then he asked which headers would work for his car.

read more bud. also, you've now got over 1,000 posts, why don't you try working on putting some good information into your posts. I swear your just up for a record in posts or something. Im still waiting for the day you come in with something that actually informs somebody about something
4-2-1 is better for midrange.
4-1 is more suited for drag/top end.

I prefer the 4-2-1 unless your packing a lot of power all motor. So, I suggest going that route.

alright... you have had your fun... now back to Cars...
i have a 92 GS...
I need to know what will fit on my car other then the ones that are supposidly designed specificly for other vehicles. I am Very familiar with what type of header does what, however, i wanted to know if anyone has put a header on their 92-93 gs that wasn't specifiacally designed for their car. And what modifications were needed to make such a process able to happen
Do all the b-series headers drop do the same point? Because if they do, then i could just modify other things to work with my car...

Hasn't your question been answered already?
All b series headers do not drop to the same point. There are so many variances between manufacturer's that it would be next to impossible for anyone on here to tell you exactly how every b series header on the market will fit your car. You SHOULD be able to make any b series header fit your car, but you may run into clearances with your front cross member and possibly your oil pan.
I have a jdm itr 4-1 for my '92 and obviously the crossmember needs to be cut. I also had oil pan clearance issues, and my oil pan had to be "modified" (hammered) slightly to increase clearance between the header and the pan.
