Default Replacement Costs

aright, well i have a 92 cx im looking at about 170 miles from my house. when i carfaxed it, it said it was an original california owner, so i figured that was good with the rust situation. its 5spd, ac, 70k miles or so. From what the guy has told me, it runs perfect and is no rust. but theres a scratch on the passenger side door, theres a tear in the passenger seat material, the front honda emblem is missing, and one of the speakers is blown. The price he gave me was 3900. But i called him back and said that id pay 2500 cash out the door.

1. I was wondering first of all, how many speakers do you think were installed by the dealer initially?

2. How much would it cost to replace a single speaker? (do you think they even still make these speakers?) or would i just be better off buying a new set. And how much would a new set of standard speakers cost including insallation.

3. How much do honda emblems cost to replace?

4. do you think 2500 is a good deal for this car?

Heres a picture of the car from cars.com. The guy said he could get more pictures to me either today or tomorrow.

I wouldn't talk him down on the price. He's offering you an awesome deal. 70k miles on a 92??? Get over yourself and give him what he's asking. Nobody goes for $1400 less than what they're asking. Is this your first automobile purchase? My guess would be yes it is. Forget about the speakers. You don't want the stock ones anyway. Get some good ones and call it a day.

why do you bother these guys with your questions that can be answered by going to bestbuy.com... it honestly took you more time to make that post then it would have to just go to a website and look it up instead of this. if your gonna buy hatchback and your asking question about how much a honda emblem is, idk man good luck...

speakers are cheap and easy to put in if you dont wanna pay for installation. All you really need to put them in is a screw driver. I say good deal on that car. Why spend an extra 1000 without trying to bargain, who knows, maybe he will bite on the 2500. Go to a junkyard and get an emblem, they might just give it to you, never know.

i picked it up . 2799 out the door. its pretty freakkin clean. all i was really worried about was the rust. and there is none. theres a few chips, door dings etc, but thats nothing... i carfaxed the car, and it was originally from cali. so that may have a lot to do w/ the no rust part. the car runs great. tranny, clutch, brakes, all feel nice. and its still fun to drive evne though its only 70hp.

and dude... when the dealer popped the hood.... holy shat. i had no idea a 92 could have an engine bay this clean...... this thing was frikkin spotless. cleaner than cars 5 years younger than it.

hey Bunz, i can't respond to pms yet, but thanks for the info.

haha, i think the best part is. theres only speakers in the front. So even if i get aftermarket speakers, imma just use the front speakers. so ill save money by only getting two. but whatever, il live w/ one speaker for now. and the honda emblem aint no thang either. il be getting a carbon fibre hood later, and some jdm red honda badges yo.

haha yeah right 3900 for a 92 cx. Good catch man! Enjoy modding it.

Front Emblem is #5 $10.00- http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/jsp/mws/prddisplay.jsp?inputstate=5&catcgry1=Civic&catcgry 2=1992&catcgry3=3DR+CX&catcgry4=KL5MT&catcgry5=EMB LEMS
