Default AEM EMS Questions

Ok, here's the situation. My friend wants to sell me his AEM EMS for a pretty good price. It's OBD1 and it's for an integra. He was running a p28 before. I am running an turbo h22 civic, I want to know if I can use it. I'm pretty sure it'll just plug right in since it is OBD1 but I want to know if there is any problems doing this. Please help cuz I want to buy this from him. The one that's for prelude is the one model number that ends with 1001. I don't think that's the same model though. Thanks!

The 1001 is a 1000 we orginally set up those parts numbers for some automatic stuff, but since we are not doing the automatics they are the same box. Your friend most likely was running a 1000 box. It will work fine for your app. Start with a base map for your motor and go from there.

Thank you so much. That's exactly what I wanted to hear.

Yeah.. When I was buying my ems the 30-1000 was out of stock.. I called aem and they did say the 1000 and 1001 were the same unit so I was just going to get the 1001 unit.. But my 1000 came in stock before I ordered the 1001..
