Default Help identifying B-series tranny: S4

The engine I got recently, came with a tranny stamped "S4".
I already searched around, and so far just only found mentionings of "S4C" - 99-00 SI.

Can anybody explain where the misterious S4 comes from?

A word of advice: dont use brake cleaner to clean out area around the stamps! It takes the stamp right out, together with the grime. LOL
