I've never heard of that either. Are you rev-matching when you downshift, or are you just dropping down gears and letting the transmission bring the engine speed up abruptly?

Yep, i am rev-matching. It is the wierdest thing, there is a slight dimme in the cluster lights until the gears catch.

Never had the problem.... only time the cluster lights dim is if their is a sudden need for lots of elec. power... say turning the A/C from off to full blast...

When my A/C is at full blast and i am gearing down the a/c also loses power until the gears catch.

When you are sitting at a stop light , are your lights dim? Do they get a little brighter when you take off or rev up? Maybe your problem is your alternator, your battery, or you just have too much stereo for your little car to handle.

Stock stereo, and no the dash lights are fine while i am stopped there is only a slight dim and if the a/c is on a loss in a/c power when i gear down, until the gears catch again and then everything goes back to normal.

Just bear with me and try something. While cruising put it in neutral as if you are between gears. Then rev. Do the lights brighten? I think they probably will...

If this happens then I'm betting its your alternator.
