can i remove my a/c mount?
I dropped in a new motor a couple of months ago and it sits a little twisted, i'm pretty sure its due to an accident i had a while back that may have altered the mounts. not my rear mount doesnt sit centered and rubbs on the side making the entire car vibrate horribly. I think that if i remove the a/c mount it might help it because i had to force that mount on and that mount is pulling the motor in the direction where the rear mount is rubbing. anyway, i know its just a torque mount but is there any serious downsides to removing it? thanks
both sub frames were replaced when i had my accident, i wish it was still under warantly cause i didnt know the car wasnt straight untill i tried to put in this motor. the weird part it that the last motor sat straight.
you have to put polyuretahne inserts on the rest of the mounts, with out the a/c bracket and stock mounts your valve cover could hit the hood when you take off hard.
but with a bent frame good luck lining up the mounts with poly. inserts
