they call me and say both my O2 sensors are bad because i had a strieght pipe on for like a month then put it back on. THey said i droped it or something? wtf.

They want me to pay 700 for the O2 and the labor to put it back on. And still the fact my car burns oil which they said they couldnt find anything wrong. So much bullshit. Im getting rid of my car i swear such a hassel. ****** !!!!!FUC!!!!!!

What pisses me off even mroe is that my mom beleives everything they say. I cant drive my car cause my cat doesnt have O2 sensors my mom thinks its bad wtf. Shes so dumb. Would the check light turn off for the cat light if u put it back on? or do you still ahve to get it reset?

that's the main reason i got into cars and started doing everything myself... all the bs you get from mechanics and the amount of money you lose out on.

I dont understand how you can damage it when its been in my garage and noobody touched it. Also its weilded into the cat so u technicaly cant break it unless they were out whihc they werent right?

dude buy 2 used O2 sensors.. i got mine for 40 shipped for ONE.. you could probably cop 2 for under 100.. dont let acura rip you like that come on man..thats even if there really was a problem

 

I dont even think there damamged seriously how can u damage THEM?

 

I used to have a CRX Si.. when the original engine was in the car the o2 sensor worked perfectly. I swaped in a d16z6 (sohc vtec) engine in it and i used the same o2 sensor. After my swap was complete it was runing perfect but i was throwing a o2 code and it was drving me nuts cuz the o2 worked right before the swap. So i tryed all sorts of stupid stuff and nothing worked.... until i finaly put a new o2 sensor in it and the the Check engine light never came on again.

Somhow me just unbolting the exauhst manifold setting it on the floor of my garage and the re instaling it 4 days later made my o2 sensor go bad. I know others who have had this hapen also... Just replace those damn o2 sensors and it will be all good... and dont have acura install them

 

Have Auto Zone reset your codes for FREE, then buy two O2 sensors and install them yourself (takes a few minutes with a jack and stands and some tools). Then go back to the dealership, ask to speak with the service manager or head and tell him what the dumbass tech's were telling you. Demand free coffee and donuts. Be sure to apologize for wasting his time too, because apparently burning lots of oil in an Acura is normal. Bring a brochure for UTI or AAI so he can read all about sending his technicians back to school. Give him a cookie too, those big guys love sweets. Then demand a free car and a job.

Oh yeah, and a straight pipe doesn't do **** to your O2 sensors, sorry. You should ignore that **** I said above and just call the tech and have him explain, detail by detail, how BOTH O2 sensors (oooo, especially the one before the straight pipe) can be fouled by a straight pipe. Laugh at everything he says then stop laughing and ask for his manager in a serious tone.

 

two o2 sensors from ht are like prob $75 bucks, labor is easy as ******* pie.

theres a group buy going on in our sonsors forum for 02 sensors... check it out... get thoses reset the ecu, or to trick ur mom just take the light out from beind the check engine sign

OMG you got boned. I get my O2's for ~70 shipped, brand new...from oxygensensor.com. I've bought 3 from them, OEM Denso...no probs. Removing O2's are about as easy as porking a fatty while drunk.

lol...your mommy won't let you drive your car? Just pull the ecu fuse and stick it back in...

 

unhook the -side of battery, take backup fuse out. Chill for 5-10 minutes, and do reverse. That will reset the ecu and get your CEL off.

 

get an OBD-1 adapter and a obd1 ecu then call it a day

 

how hard is it to install a odb1? How does it work like whats different? just 1 sensor? What will it do make it not check my cars output?

you dont hate your car.. you hate the people who try to take your money because you dont know your car. lol relax man... its not hard to fix. we can help you by giving you an idea what to do.

 

maybe it was caused by his m4d TIZZIGHT 3rd g34r v-t4ck 20 degree "spins" in the parking lot.

 

take out your cluster, take out the check engine light. you dont need o2 sensors, all they do is regulate the fuel flow. so youll be burning slightly more gas. you wont notice a damn thing. then you can show your mom how the check engine light isnt on anymore. and you saved yourself 700 bucks, which is a rip off anyway. o2 sensors cost like 100 bucks a piece, and i dont know why the hell the price is at 700 anyway.
