Sorry if I've been under a rock cause I'm not a hard core honda guy, but what ever happened to Adam Saruwatari? I remember he was big a few years ago and was supposed to come out with a new car in 2001 I believe it was... then he dissapeared.

 

he's still racing w/ the '01 Acura NSX. Select NHRA and NDRA events from what I understand. Running 7.50's @ 180+

 

Yeah he was suppose to come out with a 01 or something civic SI. He brings it to the races and just shows it off. Never heard anything about it racing or anything

 

He realized that he was gay and moved to san fransisco

that si debut at sema last year, looked rouwdy he had the first set of the 1320 slicks from nitto......he has produced so little for the hundred of thousands of dollars each of his sponsers payed.....from enkei 2 years ago ,adam demanded 25k per sticker on the car,,,,yes 25k per.....not one of those massice stickers either ...a sticker like the size of a msd sticker....

he has done so much to keep this sport from moving forward from not producing....

he should have stayed with the rx7........

i did meet him 3 years ago in houston and he was friendly but i cant figure how someone with a 2.5 million budget for 3 years could fall on his face????he had full use of honda and jackson superchargers.....he had a massive deal with honda/acura and did what ??????
jackson paid major cash to sign him and he bailed on the 3 months into testing....
enkei,nitto,jackson,honda of north america are just a few companys that really no longer "sponser" anyone and this maybe due to adam.......

To say he hasn't done anything for the sport is a pretty bold statement. I too am dissapointed but I remember years ago when he would bring the rx7 on an open trailer to Sac Raceway. His 9 sec passes back then were quite amazing. Considering that at the time turbo hondas were only hitting low 11's and maybe high 10's and all motor cars were not even in the 12's yet. Then along came the NSX and I am sure that everyone of you guys were jocking that car when you saw it in person or in pictures for the first time. I believe he was the first big name in the industry. I understand everyones dissapointment but remember that he was one of the pioneers to bring this industry to its current level. Just my 3 cents

 

I can agree to a certain extinct. Then were is the ' 01 Honda Civic Si at? Why cant he run any faster than his usual 7.5's? He had all this sponsorship and R&D then how come he cant compete with the big boys of the new generation? Steph is a pioneer. Look at him-from a 8.1 to a 6.6. Where is Adam now? What has he done lately? i dont know the guy and have never met him, but he hasnt shown me anything since ive been on the scene since late 2000. I was also starting to wonder about steph a few years ago. It seemed like he had fell off along with kubo....but so far they have bounced back real good. Hell, kubo never brought out her civic coupe that I once saw at M&B a few years ago. Its a lot of old skool folks who are resting on their laurels.

i remember a while back during the LACR when the nsx was suppost to run for the first time for the people. they post up on flyer calming it was going to run 6s. funny thing is it never happen, even until day i still haven't seen it run 6s. now, stephen, he's also running the same motor but better stuff is well into the 6s.

i remember those days . which were cool , but he didnt progress in the sport like he should have . and he was not a vocal roll in drag racing . you see all these big names , everyone putting into the sport , while hes off arguing because he didnt get 25k per sticker.

and do you remember when he brought the new nsx to sac for its first run? it blew up .

 

adam is a ****** *******, met him in sonoma...he acts like hes a king and ****, that chick u guys speak of attends to him like shes a slave. they take more time showing off their bling bling porsche and h2 than workin on the car
