Auxillary Input
Hey, i have a Pioneer DEH-7400 MP HU...i go to school six hours from where i live, so i'd love to be able to setup my AUX input so I can plug in my laptop and listen to the MP3's on the way home.
I need some kind of adapter for that though, and i have no idea what its called or where to find it...all i know is that it plugs into a blue port with a bunch of pins in it...
Help!

What you are thinking of is a serial cable to rcas. I don't think that they make those you would have to use your headphones jack. Then run it to the aux input. I think they are called mini stereo to rca. I could be wrong on that one though.... I have one for my mini disc player.
yea i know what you mean, i have that Y adapter for the headphone jack...but the AUX input on the back of the head unit is not RCA...
i need some kind of adapter to fit inside the little blue port..i'll post a pic in a minute

I want to have in input jack for an mp3 player in my 96 civic. right now i only have the factory radio, not the tape or cd deck. Is the CD-RB10 what I need to do this?
Also, If I were to buy a used factory tape deck, would I need to be sure to get a cable to connect it to the radio or did Honda automatically install that cable in every car(dumb question I know but just checking).
Thanks!

I'm pretty it isn't possible to put in on a factory deck using that part. You would have to figure out what the aux input looks like for the deck if you had the honda changer. I'm pretty sure it is an 8 pin DIN cable. You would have to find a DIN cable to stereo jack. Which I'm almost positive they don't make. I could be wrong. SO you will have to get a new deck if you want to attach a mp3 player to it. At which point it would be better if you just bought an mp3 deck and saved yourself some heartache with buying extra cable etc.
If you were to buy a used factory tape deck you would have to buy the car kit which would attach to the mp3 player and use it that way. Which would give you **** for sound quality.

man no way it should cost 50 bucks....i have a pioneer p930 and i had to get the aux input for my ipod and it only cost me like 5 bucks. It plugs into the back of your headunit and theres a cord with an rca i think that coms off the back of it those plug into another cord you gotta buy and the end ofthat cord plugs into your labtop ipod whatever takes all of 10 minutes to hook up.

that is incorrect. using a factory FM radio he could get a cheap FM modulator and play through a radio frequency. as far as the pioneer, you will probably need the bus adapter the guy is talkin about.. they run $50 or so
you can get that adaptor on ebay for $35-38 shipped.i got one(CD-RB10),and works great with my 7200 and my plug-and-play sirius sat.radio!with the pioneer, you can also adjust the input level.
