Frion is out and was wondering if anyone else has run out before. Can you take it anywhere to get it recharged? How much? What type of frion? How long does it take? Just want to make sure I have all the little details before taking it somewhere.
I have not re-charged mine yet, But from my understanding- the 134a our cars use is an off the shelf item and can be bought for cheap. As for putting it in, I dunno
wish I could help more...

I've been calling around to get it done for my old beater which uses R12, and I've been told it ranged from $150 to $180.
To me, thats freaking insane. Anyone in Chicago know anyone that does this kind of work?

just went to a local acura dealer and they quoted me atleast $105 on the recharge...my dad used to have a dealership and all it took was a can or two of frion and it IS hella easy....cant beleive acura would charge me more than $105
Kmart's the cheapest...they have the entire recharge kit for $20 with a can of R134a. Just charged my mom's A/C in her Accord when I was in Dallas. It's simple to do, they can train retarded chimps to do it.

you will need two cans, no more no less..once the a/c is discharged completely.
