remove your valve cover, and get some vice grips on there, then you should be able to get it out and replace it

It looks like you snapped it off high enough that you can just unscrew it with the vice grips.

If you absolutely have to. I'd make sure to check for leaks/lost oil very often though.

Wow, how did you do that Adam? Oh, that's right...you were checking your spark plugs right?

Looks like you can remove the valve cover, and use a vise grip to twist/remove the stud. You can get the bolt/stud at a honda dealership. Normally what I do is go to http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com and look at the diagrams they have.

Look at illustration 12 on the diagram. This appears to be the stud that you need replaced:

Good luck Adam.

damn dude, don't torque it so much next time. Those studs are very brittle. I know because I broke one on my old motor.

Those break easy. I drove without one for about two weeks before I finally got around to putting a new one in. Shouldn't hurt anything, but then again, thats not how its supposed to be so fix it.

diddy where did you get your new one from? I didn't torque it down I was turning it on and then it just came of. I tightened them a lot tighter on my old b16 I just think it was this ones time.

A little oil came out, not enough to worry about.

Man if wont be that hard to get out at all. no need for vise grips. Just unbolt of the rest of thevalve cover bolts. Then pull the valve cover off, you will then notice that the stud bolts in with a 12mm socket. You will still have a use a lonlg 12mm socket to get it out tho. Then go purchase a new one at Honda, will probbably cost you like 2.50 for it.

These work fantastic. I was very suprised by how good they are; I didn't expect them to work at all when I bought them. It lloks like he can just get on there with some grips when he pulls the cover off though, since it snapped right at the head of the bolt.

NO its not a 14mm, like i said before the one you snaped off was 12mm ,. Also dont go rushing to the store to purchase one of these easy out kits. Your not going to need one for this problem.

first of all im not trying to talk **** , just trying to give the right imformation. Now he did not give the imformation on what head that was, But from the pic i can tell its eather a vtec or ls head,. If it is a Ls head then i could be wrong with saying that it is 12mm socket not sure what size the ls head uses. But if its a vtec head i know for a fact that it is a 12 mm deep socket. The pic that you posted has the wrong imformation. The only part inside of a B series Vtec head that uses a 14mm socket are the head studs, and that would be a 14mm 6 point.
