Manual Trans question for a 92 Si 2WS
I have a stock 1992 Honda Prelude Si w/ manual transmission and the 2 wheel steering and today when going down the highway my 5th gear began to slip. My friend that owns a salvage yard said to find a tranny off a wreck from another yard and he will do the swap.
The problem I have is... What is the part number of the stock tranny and what compatible transmisions can I install. Are there other models and years that have the same transmission or one that will replace with no modifications. I just lost my job so the cheapest way to get my transmission fixed would be the the preference.
Thanks,
Tim

Any tranny from an H series engine should work as long as it doesn't have ATTS. The gear ratios are different for the H22's than the H23's. I would think you would have an easier time finding a cheap H23 Tranny....
Look here for all the info you could possible want. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=641555
Or you could just replace the clutch since that's prolly all that is wrong with it.
