Default New Honda oil filter?

I did a search already but didn't come up with anything useful...did Honda change their oil filters? The one I bought today was taller and skinnier than the old ones I've used. Not to mention it was twice as much as the old ones. Why did they change it? Is there any performance gains/losses?

Now do you really think honda would sell you an oil filter that gave you power loss, etc?

I just bought one for my eh3 yesterday and it's really small....so maybe they gave you a real old one?

No I didn't think there would be any losses but a simple yes/no is all that was needed. And I said it was smaller...when I said it was twice as much, I meant twice as much $$. No they didn't sell me an old one, it was one of the new ones.

In 2001 Honda introduced that new smaller design. It was to be used on the K-Series engines. The older style was later replaced with the new design.

I swear, I can't tell how many times I got someone coming in asking for a filter, then to turn around and tell me "You gave me the wrong one."

NO! *I* work behind the counter, I know what works and what doesn't.

The S2k filter stayed the same. It's what I run on my D series.

Is there any benefits of running the S2k filter?

No not really. Its just what I've been running since day 1, so I continue to run it.
