Default h22 transmission

I have an automatic 95 prelude. is it at all possible to just keep the engine and change out the transmission? or would it be easier to just go out and buy a 5speed h22?

Changing over to a 5spd is a somewhat tedious task. You will need to locate all the necessary swap parts. I don't think it is as hard of a swap if you pull out the motor, however, I can't speak from experience.

I believe that the hardest parts to find are the 5spd brake and clutch pedals, the clutch reservoir, the tubes from the clutch reservoir to the clutch slave cylinder, and one other item. I can't remember what it is called. I think it is the clutch dampener, but I am not sure.

I think the easiest route would be to find a 90-97 Accord/92-96 Prelude that is totalled and take all the parts needed from it.

Hope this helps

You will also need a new dash cluster, shifter mount, and shifter linkage and cables... But, on a good note, you can keep your ECU... You will need to clip a jumper to disable the lockup solenoid... See pgmfi.org for the jumper location
