well you need wetsand paper and water

that's pretty much it

also a wax and buffing pad, or an orbital polisher

I dont' wetsand becuase I dont' want to screw up my car

I have a friend do it

if you do it wrong you can mess it up hardcore

get some 1500 or 2000 grit sandpaper and a bucket of water. dip the sandpaper in the water and with moderate pressure start sanding the desired spot. you will notice that the spot you are sanding will become dull and white. Its okay keep going unitl you have gotten rid of the imperfection in the clear coat. Then buff the spot you wetsanded and your done

(I do all of blackthorns wetsanding)

dont foget a backing pad. you should mix in a little bit of car wash soap with your bucket of water. not too much just enough to add some lubrication. oh, and stay away from edges and corners. then follow with a machine polish, orbital polish, then wax. what made you decide to wet sand? got pics of your paint?

like above, a bucket adn VERY find grit wet/dry paper. But mix the water in the bucket with car soap or dish soap. A few shops i know of and the videos i have to watch in autobody say to use dish soap. A rubber 3M pad makes the sanding noticably easier rather then trying to grip a thing piece of sandpaper. you'll also want a squirt bottle with water in it to squirt where you're sanding....yes, its ideal to have the bucket with water/soap and bottle with water.

i dont have any pics yet but my paint just looks terrible and im one of those perfectionists who wants their car to look great and i just think it would look a hell of a lot better without all the rings and everything, this is my first black car and i never realized till now how hard it is to take care of

the posts above yours pretty clearly outline the wetsanding process, so I'm sure he has SOME clue on how to do it now, therefore he's no longer clueless

no, it's not better, you're not helping anyone out with useless posts talking about how many wetsands and buffs you've done and not even trying to help him sort out his problem

Toda and TRD actually tried to tell him the process, THAT"S help
