H22A swap into NZ 91 Accord LX?
Hi,
I have a 1991 Accord LX with a F20(?) I think. I want to drop in an H22A from a 4th Gen Prelude. I have tried to do as much research as possible for this but can only find cases in America - I am in New Zealand. For those of you who don't realise, we drive on the other side of the road to you and so our driver's side is actually the right side of the car. I have read guides on H22 swaps which all seem straight forward enough, my question is - will the fact that the drivers side is the other side of the car to all your American accords pose a problem with this motor swap? Say the steering column getting in the way or something? Also anyone who can give me information about anything to do with this engine swap, anything related that might help me at all, guides, resources, contacts, suggestions - please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated.

yeah just get a jdm halfcut...then you could convert the h22a and the lude tranny directly over...since japanese cars are right hand driven just like NZ
you might not even have to get a halfcut but i guess that might be cheaper
than tryin to get specific parts shrug

Yeah, getting the front clip of a JDM rhd car would probably give you almost all of the hardeware you will need. But i dont know about the issue of motor mounts and axle size difference you might experience.
I did this swap from a JDM clip to an American car and saw no difference as far as clearance issues. The motor from a Japanese Prelude or an American Prelude will drop right in without hitting anything. The only thing you may have to worry about is the throttle cable since you are RHD the cable loops around but it's probably like that with your OEM motor. In regards to the swap you are able you use pretty much everythnig from the accord. The motor mounts will work so will the axles and the shifter cables, even the muffler will line up. The only thing I had to modify was the power steering line that comes from the rack and pinion. I used a prelude one as the pumps are different and will not line up. Good luck
